Columbia Mall to get interactive touch screen displays
Shoppers at Columbia Mall in Grand Forks soon will be able to use interactive touch screens.
Columbia Mall will install several 65-inch interactive screens next month. The screens should be up and running by Nov. 15, barring a shipping delay, said Columbia Mall manager Justin Valinski.
Six new screens will display mall directories and other content throughout the mall.
That additional content will include content related to charitable events in the area, community gatherings, farmer’s markets and other local events, according to Valinski.
“Today’s consumer is looking for experiences, mixed-use spaces and a variety of merchants, and we are proactively seeking new businesses to join the Columbia Mall,” Valinski said in a statement.
Columbia Mall partnered with ConnectLabs to bring the large touch screens to shoppers. ConnectLabs is a Fargo-based technology company that focuses on collecting consumer shopping data to help market and advertise to shoppers.
This is the first addition to Columbia Mall in almost a year. Orangetheory Fitness opened in the mall this year, but anchor store Sears left, following Macy’s 2017 departure. This left the mall without two anchor store.
The mall still is home to JCPenney, Scheels, Bath and Body Works and a number of other, smaller stores.
