Target Lays Off 275 Technology Professionals
Minneapolis, MN (KSTP) - Minneapolis-based Target laid off 275 people and will close 35 open positions in its latest cost-saving move.
The announcement was made Tuesday morning. The reductions were made across Target's technology teams and focused on analysis and project management, the company said in a statement.
In March, Target announced it was laying off thousands of workers during a two-year period to save $2 billion.
Shortly after, it announced it was laying off 1,700 people and would not fill 1,400 positions. The company has announced smaller layoffs since.
Some positions are being moved within the technology department and the company will continue to recruit technical talent for technology positions.
