GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)—It’s Giving Tuesday, and a number of local charities could use all the donations they can get for the holiday season.

The Grand Forks chapter of United Way has been processing paperwork all week for their biggest project of the year—Toys for Tots.

They already have more than 600 applicants looking to receive toys this year, and they’re expecting that number to jump to 800

Today is 'Giving Tuesday' and a number of local charities could use all the donations they can get this holiday season.

“We were over 800 children last year. We did have the waiting list, and thanks to the generosity of the community, we were able to help every child on the waiting list, so we’re hoping to do that again this year,” said Lisa Martinez of United Way.

This is the 7th year in a row that WDAZ has made it our mission to guarantee that no child in our community goes without toys.
