GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)—Monday’s blast of winter weather was no match for the giving hearts in and around Grand Forks.

Many braved the elements to donate Toys for Tots.

Because of the blowing snow, we had to close the doors on the Whalen’s truck, and take donations inside instead.

Brendy Halle got off work early because of the weather and figured she’d take advantage of the extra time to help local kids.

“Our work closed and I thought, hey, I’m out driving home, I might as well stop by. I’ve got a teddy bear and a baby doll and a little truck thing for a boy,” said Brenda Halle.
