11-year-old Grand Forks Girl Struck by Pickup in Satisfactory Condition in Minneapolis

A female juvenile pedestrian was injured in a north Grand Forks accident Wednesday evening.

MINNEAPOLIS (WDAZ-TV) - The 11-year-old Grand Forks girl who was struck by a pickup in a north Grand Forks accident Wednesday evening is now in satisfactory condition at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, according to a hospital administrator.

Shayna Krom was crossing N. Washington St. in the 1200 block at 5:20 p.m. when she was struck by a pickup that was heading south.

The driver of the pickup tried to stop, but Krom was hit by the front end of the truck and knocked to the ground.

She was initially taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks before being transferred.

The driver of the pickup was uninjured and wasn't cited.
