Arrest made in hit-and-run incident between pedestrian and pickup

The Grand Forks Police Department has made an arrest after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Saturday.

Preliminary charges have been filed against Bryon Hultquist of Grand Forks, 33, for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, both felonies.

Witnesses told police that a pickup appeared to intentionally drive toward a 30-year-old Grand Forks resident in an alley off North Third Street before hitting them. The pedestrian was carried a short distance before falling off the hood of the truck, witnesses said. The vehicle then continued driving toward North Fourth Street.

The pedestrian did not sustain life-threatening injuries and was taken to Altru Hospital, police said.

As of Wednesday, the police were looking for three suspects in connection to the incident. An investigation is still ongoing.
