Bonanzaville's "centerpiece" future unknown
Still no word on whether the "centerpiece" of Bonanzaville will be saved.
The 1896 St. John's Lutheran Church was heavily damaged in a weekend fire. No one was injured, and there were no weddings or events scheduled there around the time of the fire. Reports indicate fire officials believe the fire may have started in the church basement. Bonanzaville officials are waiting for news from the state fire marshal and insurance adjustors.
"Bonanzaville is open for business and we're waiting for our insurance adjusters to come out and take a look at our church and then we can kind of go from there and see what's going on," said John Monilaws with the Bonanzaville Board of Directors.
No other buildings near the church sustained damage.
