"Bumbo" Child Seat Recalled After Injuries
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Parents of young children need to pay attention. The consumer product safety commission issued a warned to stop using "Bumbo" brand baby chairs.
Four million of the popular foam seats have been recalled after nearly two dozen infants suffered skull fractures.
Four years ago Kevin Lamm told ABC news his son Dylan fell out of a Bumbo seat while on a table, cracked his head in two places and almost died on the way to the hospital.
Kevin Lamm, father: "By the time we got there, there was no pulse. Three minutes more and he would be dead."
This report, and others, prompted a voluntary recall of the seats in 2007.
Under the new recall, parents will be able to install restraining belts that help keep their babies inside the Bumbo.
