Pat is a St. Paul native who graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School and the University of St. Thomas. He started his TV career on the studio crew at KTCA (PBS) in St. Paul. Pat joined WDAZ in June 1982 as weekend sports anchor, and became sports director in December 1983. In addition to anchoring weeknight sportscasts, Pat also does play-by-play on WDAZ's coverage of the North Dakota high school football, hockey and basketball tournaments. For 28 years, he announced UND's televised football, hockey and basketball games. His work has been seen nationally on ESPNU, NHL Network and Fox College Sports. For more than 20 years, he was host/producer of the UND football coach's show. Pat's work with WDAZ News during the 1997 flood helped the station win the Edward R. Murrow award. He has also worked in news and sports at Williston's KUMV-TV and Dickinson's KQCD-TV, and was a copy editor for the Minneapolis Tribune. Pat is a three-time winner of the North Dakota sportscaster of the year award, as voted by his peers.
