East Grand Forks police announce project lifesaver adoption
The East Grand Forks Police Department announced today that they are bringing the Project lifesaver program to Polk County. Project Lifesaver is a non-profit organization that helps families find loved ones who live with alzheimers, down syndrome, and autism.
The East Grand Forks Police department began looking into the program after 11-year Anthony Kuznia wandered away from his home last August. Kuznia was a child living with autism and for two days hundreds of people volunteered to search for him before his body was found in the red river. The program would have families enroll and equip loved ones living with mental disabilities to wear a tracking device around their wrist or ankle that can be used to find the individual if they go missing.
Families and caregivers interested are encouraged to contact the East Grand Forks Police Department at 218-773-1104 for more information.
