Fishing conditions improving on Devils Lake
Anglers should be finding more luck on Devils Lake now that summer weather is starting to calm down.
Fishing experts at Woodland Resort say calm weather is helping to improve the bite out on the lake.
A string of windy days made catching fish difficult for boaters, but shore fishing remained plentiful.
There are hot spots throughout the lake, both on the water and in weedy areas along shorelines.
The fishing is expected to stay good as the water heats up during the summer.
Dylan Dalziel with Woodland Resort said, "I expect it to be consistent to what it's been now. A lot more trolling. The fish are eventually gonna move out a little bit deeper than they are now."
Most fish are being caught in 8 to 10 feet of water right now.
The experts expect the best fishing to drift out into 15-foot water in the next month.
