Friends honor Jose Lopez in a special way during their softball game in Grafton
Family, friends and the northern valley continue to mourn the loss of Jose Lopez - but also celebrate his life.
Lopez was on the softball team in Grafton, and at their double header Wednesday, the group dedicated their games to Lopez.
Even though Wednesday was the third game in the season for the 12th Street Bowl and Lounge softball team, this was supposed to be Lopez's first game with the team this year.
Lopez's teammates dedicated their doubleheader to Lopez.
The also hung his jersey in the dugout to honor him.
The 12th Street Bowl and Lounge Softball team says they are still in shock about the murder, but will always be thinking of Lopez on the field, and remembering him as a hardworking family man who loved to make others smile.
Close Friend of Joe Lopez, Dylan Degeldere said, "We're playing as hard as we can for Joe and what went down in his apartment that day, he was a hero saving his pregnant girlfriend and daughter so I just hope we can get out here and win it for him."
The 12th Street Bowl and Lounge Softball team won it's first game but lost the second.
Funeral arrangements have been set.
