Grand Forks will soon see UAS test site business opportunities
Grand Forks will soon be one of 6 national test sites for the integration of unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Commercial flight space and that will bring business opportunities.
FAA Leaders at the 8th annual UAS conference in Grand Forks talked about the regulatory environment surrounding Drones in commercial air space.
The FAA says test process will mean commercial development to some key areas.
Of the chosen test sites Grand Forks will be among the first to be operational.
Dr. Delore Zimmerman, Praxis Strategy Group said, "while we can see, a lot of opportunities for precision agriculture, we can see a lot research related to climate. All kind of atmospheric things. "
Law Enforcement is also another area that will use drones for such things as surveillance.
