Labor Day travel at highest rate since recession

Nearly 35 million Americans are traveling for Labor Day.  According to AAA, that's the highest number since the recession.

Most travelers will be driving, with 30 million out of 35 million people traveling by car this weekend.  AAA experts say when Labor Day weekend begins in August, Americans have shown a higher tendency to travel.

With construction projects still underway, authorities say it's important holiday travelers avoid distracted driving.

As always, safety is a big concern for travelers this weekend.  The period between Memorial Day and Labor Day is what's known as the 100 deadliest days of summer.

Experts say with so many people on the road, it's important to pay attention to speed limits and drive cautiously.
