Officers responded shortly before 4 p.m. when Robert Gamboa rear-ended a Slumberland delivery truck with his 1996 Ford Explorer on DeMers Avenue downtown, in front of Bonzers Sandwich Pub, said Lt. Mike Ferguson, of the Grand Forks Police Department.

Altru Ambulance also responded to the scene, but no one was transported for medical attention, Ferguson said.

The Slumberland truck sustained minimal damage, but the SUV was extensively damaged, Ferguson said.

“If it’s not totaled, it was close,” he said.

Ferguson did not have any other details on Gamboa or the citation.

No other information was immediately available Friday.
