BISMARCK – A Wisconsin man charged with transporting women to North Dakota and forcing them to engage in prostitution pleaded not guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court.

Levell Lee Durr, 31, pleaded not guilty to a federal charge of coercion and enticement, which alleges that he “knowingly persuaded, induced, enticed and coerced an individual to travel in interstate commerce to engage in prostitution.”

A woman told authorities Durr held her and two other females against their will in Minot, forcing them to have sex for money, according to a grand jury indictment. The woman told authorities Durr used drugs and physical force to control them.

The allegations are believed to have occurred between May 1 and June 9 in North Dakota.

A trial date is set for Sept. 16.
