ND Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring wants you to help grow 1 million servings of fresh produce for those in need
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring wants you to help grow one million servings of fresh produce for those in need.
It's this year's Hunger Free North Dakota Garden Project goal.
The program calls for people to grow food and donate it to food pantries, shelters, and charitable feeding organizations.
Goehring says one out of every ten North Dakotans go without a meal every day.
Doug Goehring/ND Ag Commissioner: “So it's important, if we can get people engaged and aware of the issue and the causes we have a real solution for a real need.”
People have donated 3.8 million servings of produce to the program during the last three years.
