NDSU men's basketball to play next two seasons at Scheels Arena

FARGO - North Dakota State's men's basketball team will play its games for the next two seasons at Scheels Arena while renovation continues at the old Bison Sports Arena.

Officials from NDSU and Scheels Arena announced a two-year agreement today to host home NDSU men's basketball games at the venue for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. The agreement also includes three women's basketball games - a game with North Dakota on Dec. 13, 2014 and two games as part of Summit League doubleheaders Jan. 2 and Jan. 4.

Located in southwest Fargo, Scheels Arena is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose hockey rink that is the home of the Fargo Force junior hockey team of the United States Hockey League.

The renovation of the Bison Sports Arena, which will be named Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex, is expected to be completed in time for the 2016-17 basketball seasons.
