Norwegian delegation visits UND, discusses energy, oil boom
A Norwegian delegation made up of diplomats and energy officials visited UND Monday. They met with engineering faculty and others to talk about problems and potential in North Dakota's oil boom and lessons learned from Norway's petroleum industry.
The visit follows one last year by Norway's minister of petroleum and energy. The delegation hopes to bring UND students a little closer to home. Norway's state-controlled Statoil became a major player in North Dakota's Bakken formation two years ago by acquiring Brigham Exploration for $4.4 billion.
