According to a press release, the city of Minot is the scene of a "modern day Gold Rush with individuals and families from all over the country flocking to this unexpectedly wealthy area for a chance to strike it rich and ask 'Why Not, Minot?'

Little information, other than a working title of "Why Not, Minot?," has been released because the show is still under development. It's also unclear when it might be televised.

The show will be produced by Leftfield Entertainment, which also produces other hit reality shows such as "Pawn Stars," "American Restoration," and "Counting Cars."

City officials have not been in contact with the production company or the network. "We haven't been contacted by anyone," said public information officer Bob Lindy. "They haven't filed for filming permits. We don't even know if they're required."

The Bravo network is owned by NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.
