Small Minnesota cafe in hot water after minimum wage increase
A small Minnesota cafe is in hot water with customers because it's charging them to help cover a minimum wage increase.
Oasis Cafe in Stillwater is now charging patrons an additional 35 cents per meal.
Owner Craig Beemer says the fee is meant to offset the 75-cent wage increase that took effect last week.
He says it will cost him 10-thousand dollars more each year to pay his servers 8-dollars an hour.
Angry customers are encouraging others to boycott the restaurant.
So far, Oasis Cafe is the only Minnesota restaurant to add a minimum wage fee to meal tabs.
