South Fargo girl wins Michelle Obama's healthy recipe challenge, will dine with First Lady
For the second year in a row, a young chef from our area is going to the White House after winning a healthy recipe contest.
11-year-old Tegan Lancaster of South Fargo won Michelle Obama's healthy recipe challenge with her egg white and veggie omelette.
One winner was selected from each state.
A competitive dancer, Tegan likes to cook healthy dishes to keep her energy up.
She and her mom, Cathy, will visit Washington, D.C. next week, where they will have lunch with the First Lady.
Tegan Lancaster, Recipe Contest Winner said, "I was kind of shocked. My mom was pretty confident. But I was like, I'm not really sure if I'll even win."
Last year, a girl from Oxbow won the challenge.
