Two arrested for 1st Degree Sex Trafficking of 13 year-old girl
Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the prostitution of a juvenile in Moorhead.
Eyeesha Hinton and Prince Jones, both 24, were arrested in Fargo. They are accused of pimping out a 13 year-old female from a Moorhead hotel.
Detective Ryan Nelson of the Moorhead Police Department responded to an ad on backpage.com that was placed with the purpose of prostitution. Nelson received a response from a woman, who set up a meeting on short notice at a Moorhead hotel. When authorities arrived at the hotel and made contact, they determined the victim being sold was a 13 year-old runaway from Minneapolis.
The Minnesota BCA and the FBI, as well as Fargo Police, assisted in the investigation. Fargo Police apprehended the suspects at a Fargo hotel. They are currently being held in the Cass County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Sex Trafficking.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton had a strong message for those in the area engaging in the sex trade. “To the johns out there: If you’re out there and you think this is a victimless crime; This is not a victimless crime,” Melton said.
Moorhead Chief David Ebinger said the victim had been reunited with family members by Thursday morning.
