Manhunt underway in Grand Forks

Ventura awarded 1.8 million in lawsuit

A federal jury in St. Paul has awarded former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura 1.8 million dollars in his lawsuit against the estate of "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle.

The jury found the 2012 best-selling book libeled Ventura in describing a bar fight in California in 2006. Kyle wrote that he decked a man later identified as Ventura after the man allegedly said the Navy SEALs "deserve to lose a few." An attorney for Ventura said the former governor is grateful for the jury's decision, but that with his reputation damaged there are no real winners in the trial.
