Moving in fits and starts Saturday, the Minnesota Legislature tried to nail down the final pieces of the next state budget, including votes on a nearly $16 billion school funding bill that's been one of the chief priorities for Democrats running things at the Capitol.
The Legislature has sent Gov. Mark Dayton a $11 billion package of spending on health and assistance programs that includes a 5-percent pay increase for nursing home workers.
