The Heritage Foundation is keeping history and community traditions alive next weekend during Heritage Days. Preparations for the event are in full force.

It's a year long process to get the fields and the village ready for the two day event.

Heritage Days raises about $10,000 for the Heritage Foundation each year. Organizers say it's all about preserving the heritage of East Grand Forks for future generations.

"We get members, and we also get people just the public to come out and volunteer to help and they don't belong to the Heritage- we'd love to have them join, but they come out and help and that's all we ask, just a little help," Heritage Foundation Board Member Dale Helms said.

Volunteers will be out all week preparing the Village. Heritage Days kicks off Friday night with a dance and runs through August 21st.
