Students Still Plan Lawsuit, Despite Nickname's Almost Certain End

Even though the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo will almost certainly be retired before the end of the year, some students who are suing the school over the issue don't plan on stopping the suit.
The complaint issued by the eight Native American students claims the state disregarded a legal settlement with the NCAA that resolved the issue.
The lawsuit also claims the nickname violates the United State Constitution.
The attorney for the students told WDAZ Monday that her clients have heard the news of the NCAA meeting and State Board of Higher Education vote but have no plans to drop the lawsuit.
