CROOKSTON, MN - Testimony continued Thursday in the murder trial of Thomas Fairbanks, the man accused of shooting Mahnomen County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Dewey in February of 2009.

The officer who shot Fairbanks testified he found his partner, Deputy Dewey in the snow outside of Fairbanks' trailer home in Mahnomen. Deputy Chad Peterson, at times having to gather his emotions as he talked of the incident, said he found Dewey in the snow, struggling to get up.

Dewey's wife Emily testified Wednesday about how difficult it was in the 18 months after Dewey was shot, as he couldn't communicate and lost a large amount of weight.

Dewey eventually died of the three gunshot wounds.

Fairbanks faces life in prison if convicted.
