Wisconsin Judge Found Dead in City Park

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A Racine County circuit judge has been found dead in a Racine Park and the county medical examiner says it appears to be a suicide.

The Journal Times of Racine reports (http://bit.ly/onzLO0) Racine County Circuit Judge Dennis Barry was found dead Thursday morning in Lincoln Park a few hours after his wife reported him missing.

Racine County Medical Examiner Tom Terry tells the newspaper the apparent cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and so far there's no doubt it was not a suicide.

The 64-year-old judge was appointed to the bench in 1980 by former Gov. Lee Dreyfus. He also worked in private practice and served as Racine County District Attorney in 1979-80.
