Students Head Back to UND For Fall Semester

It's that time of year again at the University of North Dakota as students from across the world will be coming to Grand Forks for the new fall semester.

Move-in started at 9 a.m. Friday and for some who may have over-packed, it could be a long day.

"I think I did good except for maybe some clothes, lots of shirts," student Ashley Marquis said.

Some students have been waiting for this day for 18 years.

"I'm very excited. I just love the campus experience, just everything about it," student Tony Ogborn said.

"I'm most excited to meet new people, make friends, and just have a lot of good experiences," Marquis said.

They had lots of help moving in today from members of the Hall Orientation Team.

Free water was handed out by faculty members throughout the day and many who are unpacking today aren't sure what they want to study. But it's just a matter of time.

"I imagine just taking a couple classes, just all over the place, get a feel for what may be exciting and just kind of go from there," Ogborn said.

Students and parents moved into 15 residents halls, 12 fraternities, 6 sororities and more than 20 apartments.

All were ready to get to know a campus and a place that isn't home for all.

"It was closest and I visited the campus and I really liked it," Marquis said.
