ORANGE, Calif. (AP) — The husband of a woman charged with murder for allegedly tossing her disabled 7-month-old son off a hospital parking structure says his wife is mentally ill and he doesn't blame her for her actions.
Noe Medina said Wednesday that his wife had been receiving treatment for postpartum depression after the birth of their son.
Medina says in Spanish that his wife didn't know what she was doing and urged people to seek treatment if they think they have postpartum depression.
Sonia Hermosillo is charged with murder following the Monday incident at Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Authorities say the 31-year-old tossed her son off the parking garage and returned to validate her parking before driving away.
