GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The first commercial flight landed at the new Byron L. Dorgan terminal Monday night.
The terminal officially opens for business on Tuesday, but three Delta flights landed Monday so planes could be used for tomorrow's departures.
Passengers say they had no idea they were coming to the new terminal until it was announced while landing.
"Everyone started cheering when we found out where we were going, or once we landed. Everyone was just like yeah, let's try this thing out. It was pretty awesome as short lived as it was, because we kind of got rushed to the bus," Winnipeg passenger David Wiltshire said.
Passengers were taken by bus to the old terminal to grab their luggage and pick up their cars. The bus will continue taking passengers to their cars for the next week or so until the old parking lot is empty.
