GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The new airport terminal in Grand Forks has opened for business, after 10 years of planning and two years of construction.
The $21 million terminal replaces one that was nearly half a century old and had undergone four renovation projects through the years. The 52,000-square-foot terminal is double the size of the old one. It's named for longtime former U.S. Sen. Byron L. Dorgan.
The official opening was Tuesday, though WDAZ-TV reported that the first plane to use the new terminal landed Monday night. Passengers were then taken by bus to the old terminal to get their luggage.
