GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Students at UND found a new way to get involved during the first ten days of school.
A QR quest was set up around campus to help get students acclimated to different groups and services. It was set up like a scavenger hunt. Students used their smart phones to scan the QR codes and gain points.
Students could scan any of the 65 codes all around campus, from the dining halls to the dean's office.
"The goal of the contest was really to get students energized as the school year kind of started. We really wanted to kind of focus on the freshmen class and help them to realize all the different services that we do have on campus," Director of Student Input Group Nicholas Zaccardi said.
The student with the most scans wins an iPad 2. Other prizes include two iPod touches and five $50 bookstore gift cards. A total of 171 students participated.
