One local restaurant is doing their part to help the Salvation Army donations this year.

Staff at the Blue Moose in East Grand Forks stepped up to a challenge put out by their owner. By contributing tips and personal funds, the staff raised $750 which the owner then matched.

Employees then went shopping with that money for toys and clothing. They say it was worth every penny.

Casey Neibauer/Waiter at Blue Moose: "During the tough times, I guess that is when character comes out. For us as a group it was not that hard. Five, ten dollars here really can make a difference and that goes for just personally, just one gift could make one childs Christmas so much better."

Employees said shopping for the items was fun for them and they hope the kids enjoy the gifts.
