WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — More than 220 goats being driven from Oklahoma to Minnesota had an unscheduled layover in Kansas after an accident spilled them onto a highway.

KSWCH-TV reports (http://bit.ly/pf8wKQ ) a trailer being pulled by a truck blew a tire and rolled into a ditch Friday morning along the Kansas Turnpike south of Wichita. About a half-dozen of the goats didn't survive, but the rest were contained in a grassy area where they ate and slept.

Animal control officers and firefighters quickly corralled the goats. They were taken to a farm for food and water.

The owner, Lois Faller, says she picked up the goats in Purcell, Okla., and was driving them to her hometown of Clarkfield, Minn. Faller hoped to be back on the road Saturday.
