FOREST RIVER, ND (WDAZ-TV) - A large elevator fire in Walsh County prompted the response of ten local fire departments.
It appeared the elevator was severely damaged in the fire, but no one was injured.
The Walsh County Sheriff's Department says they were called at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Grafton, Park River, Fordville, Inkster, Gilby, Minto, Manvel and Grand Forks Air Force Base fire departments responded to the blaze.
Larimore and Emerado fire departments were also called later Tuesday night.
Large flames could be seen shooting out of the middle part of the elevator and a huge plume of smoke rose above the fire, which appeared to be growing in size.
It's not yet known how the fire started, but high winds have not been helping in containment.
The small town in Walsh County has about 125 people. Forest River is about 35 miles northwest of Grand Forks.
