Sanford COO: Deal With Nurses Made Through Compromise

BEMIDJI (WDAZ-TV) - The COO of Sanford Bemidji Medical Center says reaching a contract deal with nurses was made through mutual compromise.

BEMIDJI (WDAZ-TV) - The COO of Sanford Bemidji Medical Center says reaching a contract deal with nurses was made through mutual compromise.

After months of negotiations, a rejected contract and an informational picket, nurses endorsed a new contract last night.

Nurses rejected a previous offer because they said it lacked safe staffing language and cut benefits.

This new contract offers a three percent pay raise over three years and gives the nurses more say in scheduling and keeps benefits.

COO Joy Johnson says Sanford values its nurses and looks forward to working collaboratively to advance the quality and safety of medical care.
