Take 2 for the Metrodome? Remodeling Plan Due

The operators of the Metrodome are primed to offer a remodeling proposal aimed at satisfying the Minnesota Vikings' desire for an upgraded football stadium.

The operators of the Metrodome are primed to offer a remodeling proposal aimed at satisfying the Minnesota Vikings' desire for an upgraded football stadium.

The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission planned Thursday to show off an architect's renderings along with an anticipated cost and construction schedule. It's the latest chapter in Minnesota's long-running stadium debate.

The Vikings have fewer than 20 games left before the team's lease runs out. Franchise owners have shown little interest in an extension, but lawmakers have balked at a public subsidy for a new stadium.

Former Metrodome tenants, the Minnesota Twins baseball club and University of Minnesota football team, have newly built fields.
