DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — The Dickinson Planning and Zoning Commission has opposed a temporary housing company's request to build a 600-room "man camp" near Dickinson.
The Dickinson Press reports (http://bit.ly/nN1uqV ) the commission opposed Target Logistics request because of concerns about dust, traffic and an additional 600 people in the area.
About 50 people attended the early-morning meeting at City Hall and about half a dozen residents spoke against the proposed housing. No one spoke in favor.
The so-called man camps are springing up in western North Dakota to house an influx of oil workers to the region
