CROOKSTON, MN (WDAZ-TV) - A Red Lake Falls man pleaded not guilty to several felony charges in district court in Crookston on Wednesday.
21-year-old Matthew Tongen was arrested at an apartment building in Red Lake Falls after a woman called police reporting Tongen was chasing her, her boyfriend and a child with a gun near a home in rural Red Lake county.
According to the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office, Tongen's brother is the woman's boyfriend.
Tongen allegedly fired the 7.62 caliber rifle several times while chasing the three, while threatening to kill them.
Tongen is facing three counts of 2nd degree assault, terroristic threats and possession of a firearm by a felon.
He's being held at the Tri-County Correctional Facility on a $15,000 cash bond.
