REA to Get New Video BoardsHockey fans will have another reason to attend UND men’s and women’s games this season with new large-screen video display boards on the center hung scoreboard at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
According to a press release from Ralph Engelstad Arena:
Hockey fans will have another reason to attend UND men’s and women’s games this season with new large-screen video display boards on the center hung scoreboard at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The displays, measuring 9’ x 16’, show live action and video replays during men’s women’s hockey games.
The new displays will provide guests with a greatly enhanced high-quality viewing experience that is more than twice the resolution than the boards which Ralph Engelstad Arena has been using over the past 10 seasons. The new displays will offer vivid image detail and wider, more flexible viewing angles, a darker display face, as well as unparalleled brightness and contrast levels—making for sharper images, deeper colors and a brighter display picture.
On July 3, Ralph Engelstad Arena had a fire which started in a speaker cluster located above the ice. During the fire and extinguishing process, the video board on one side of the center-hung scoreboard was damaged. The clean-up process has now been completed and Ralph Engelstad Arena has been focused on repairing and replacing equipment so the facility is ready for the start of the UND men’s and women’s hockey regular season.
“We had not planned to replace the video boards this year, but took the opportunity to do so when we learned one side was damaged beyond repair” stated Jody Hodgson, Ralph Engelstad Arena General Manager. “The addition of the new video boards will greatly enhance the guest experience and will provide unprecedented video technology in the state of North Dakota.”
