Sobriety Checkpoint Set For Friday Near Devils Lake

DEVILS LAKE (WDAZ-TV) - The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Devils Lake Police Department have planned a sobriety checkpoint in Ramsey County for this Friday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The exact location of the checkpoint won't be released.
After the checkpoint, officers will be on patrol in the Devils Lake area to detect and apprehend impaired drivers.
As of September 26, 94 people have lost their lives in traffic crashes occurring on North Dakota roadways. 36 of those people died in alcohol-related crashes. Sobriety checkpoints are a major enforcement and
public information and education effort aimed at reducing these alcohol-related crashes.
