GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Local students have come up with tens of thousands of dollars to help students Minot regain some normalcy.

So far, Grand Forks Public Schools have raised more than $12,000 through fundraisers and from support of teachers, admin and alumni.

The Grand Forks Foundation for Education is matching up to 10-thousand dollars.

The district expects to raise more than $20,000 total.

"They are aware of what it's like to go through a devastating flood and I think they're doing their part to help out that community," Kelly Elementary school principal Mike LaMoine said.

All of the money will be delivered Minot next week.
