It was a long wait for people who wanted to get a flu shot at today's clinic in Grand Forks. People at the flu shot clinic at the Grand Forks County Health Department had to wait anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours in line.

This is the first H1N1 flu shot clinic in Grand Forks open to everyone.

People got H1N1 shots along with seasonal flu shots and booster shots for tetanus and shingles.

Kathy Dunn with the Public Health Department says they will be holding more vaccination clinics after the first of the year.

Dunn says, “We're hoping in January to have a very large clinic at the Alerus, along with some of our community health partners such as Altru. We will offer the H1N1 vaccine to everyone in the community.”

At around 2:00 this afternoon there were already more than 250 people given shots.
