Firefighters Make Progress On Fire Near Roseau

Almost 200 firefighters and support personnel are still working today to control the wildfire just west of Roseau, Minn.

Almost 200 firefighters and support personnel are still working today to control the wildfire just west of Roseau, Minn.

The fast moving blaze has charred nearly 34,000 acres. With the help of more firefighters and blackhawk helicopters, the fire is 60 percent contained. It had only been about 30 percent contained Friday.

Most of the fire is in the Roseau River Wildlife Managment area. No homes are in harms way. Officials say firefighters have worked hard to ensure no structures have burned.

The fire is expected to be contained by Tuesday.
