GF Lions Club Gives To The Library

The Grand Forks Lions Club donated a state-of-the-art video magnifier to the Grand Forks Public Library.

The Grand Forks Lions Club donated a state-of-the-art video magnifier to the Grand Forks Public Library.

Video magnifiers are used by people with low vision to help with reading and writing difficulties.

The magnifier is about the size of a desktop computer. The device displays a magnified image on a screen to help those who are visually impaired.

"And it's not only for reading purposes, they can also come in and use it to write letters to people. You know, just to allow them to magnify whatever text it is that they're working with," Library Reference Aide Hillary Wood said.

The magnifier is available in the library's computer lab during regular business hours.
