ALEXANDRIA, MN (WDAZ-TV) - A Minnesota roadkill mystery could be solved after capturing worldwide attention.

You remember the weird-looking white mammal.

Many of you have been asking if we know what it is.

Rumors and speculation about the dead animal spread quickly after a woman found it on a Minnesota highway in August.

Some people said it was a wolf, a wolverine or even a mythical creature.

But, a retired biology professor from the University of Minnesota examined its teeth, claws, legs and length and says it has all the characteristics it needs to be a badger.

He says he's 95 percent sure.
