Armed Robbery Reported at Grand Forks Hotel

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Grand Forks police report that an unidentified male subject robbed a hotel just before midnight Wednesday.

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Grand Forks police report that an unidentified male subject robbed a hotel just before midnight Wednesday.

Police say the man brandished two handguns to an employee at the Select Inn at 4001 Gateway Drive at around 11:48 p.m. Wednesday night.

The employee says the suspect walked into the hotel, showed the two guns and demanded money.

The employee complied and the suspect fled the area on foot.

Grand Forks police officers arrived at the scene within minutes of the reported robbery and began scouring the area for the suspect.

A K-9 unit was brought in to help, but as of 9 p.m. Thursday, the suspect hasn't been found.

The employee that was threatened and two other people in the hotel were not injured.

The amount of money the robber took off with isn't known yet.

The man was described as a dark skinned man about 6' tall and skinny with a deep voice. He was wearing a dark-colored long sleeved shirt and grey sweat pants. He had some type of cloth of black mask that covered his nose and mouth.

The man entered the hotel through the main doors, was given money from the till and left, running in a southbound direction.
