GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - At about 6:40 a.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to Spring Valley Express, a trucking company south of the Settle Inn in west Grand Forks, on a report of a burglary in progress.

The caller who reported the burglary was a guest at the Settle Inn and said they heard glass breaking and saw a person enter the building.

As officers arrived, they saw the suspect, 19-year-old Ronald Bradley Davis, Jr., looking out of a doorway of the building at 4706 12th Ave. N.

Officers identified themselves and ordered Davis to stop and he fled from the building.

He was apprehended a short distance from the building.

Davis was arrested and taken to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

He's charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

Davis was arrested in May 2010 on charges of burglary and theft of property in Grand Forks. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced in November to 12 months in jail, with eight months suspended, and to two years of probation.

Just before midnight Wednesday, a masked man brandishing two guns robbed the Select Inn, a few blocks east of the Settle Inn, getting a few hundred dollars.

A police dispatcher said the two burglaries aren't related.

If you notice anything suspicious or have any information regarding the burglary, call Grand Forks police at 787-8000.
